CEO, Jackson Lloyd Ltd

The business was a privately owned construction company specialising
in facilities management. 

Within this period, the business grew from a £300k turnover to £30m.
The business was sold in 2005 to a Venture Capital LLP. 

From 2007 – 2010 I was appointed Chairman, finally taking a Non-Executive role prior to the business being sold to a PLC in September 2010. 

August 2010 – March 2012

Executive Chairman, Assured Building Solutions Ltd

Recruited to help turn the business around from insolvency. The business continued to trade through a difficult period. Eventually a sale was negotiated to save the company from insolvency and consequently safeguarded a significant number of jobs.

April 2012 – Sept 2016 

CEO & Chairman, B4Box Ltd

A Social Enterprise. I was invited to assist the CEO to take the business to the next stage of its development, assisting people from challenged backgrounds through a training and development programme into a full trade qualification. This included setting up an internal training facility with significant social value to the community. During my period with the company over 35 full-time qualified jobs were created. The company continues to grow today.

Privately owned business employing 25 engineers, still in its growth phase
with a young management team carrying out a managed growth project.

Chairman, Hydrogen Horizons Limited

Hydrogen Horizons Limited is organisation formed to commercialise a licensed patent in safe hydrogen storage.

August 2014 – present

CEO and Chairman, Hydrogen Horizons Limited

Currently working on a thermal cooling project to use in vehicle refrigeration using the licensed technology owned by the company with, Iceland Foods Ltd along with the University of Huddersfield, UK and the Institute of Technion, Haifa, Israel.

A highly-experienced business manager and engineer with experience in product development in UK, Central / Eastern Europe, France / Denmark and Israel. 

1992 – 2000

Member, UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership

A member of the UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership and business consultancy programmes. Provided expertise and advice to companies in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary on opportunities identified in joining the European Union single market.

2000 – 2003 

United Nations International Development Organisation

Joined the United Nations International Development Organisation, to carry out a development programme to provide power to remote villages and communities in Africa using hydrogen storage in fuel cells.

2002 – 2007 

United Nations International Development Organisation

During the programme I worked with Prof. Fredy Ornath an Israeli Scientist a metallurgist and an expert in hydrogen storage working at the Institute of Technion, Haifa, Israel using new and novel composite materials, thermal transfer and renewable energy. I spent a number of years being tutored by Prof. Ornath.

2005

Co-Founder, Hydrogen Horizons UK Ltd 

Set-up a company with Prof. Ornath, Hydrogen Horizons UK Ltd, to develop and exploit technologies in hydrogen storage.

2007 – 2009

UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership

R & D projects within the UK working with the University of Glasgow in Scotland in Porous Metal Hydrides working on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTPs) with EADS – (Air Bus) Munich.

2010 – 2013 

UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership

Continued a number of KTPs throughout Europe in waste heat recovery,
heat pumps and zero global warming cooling systems etc. 

2013

Prof. Ornath sadly passed away, his role was taken up by Prof. Eugen Rabkin of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Technion. Prof. Rabkin is now Dean of the Faculty.

2014 – present

Technical Director, Hydrogen Horizons Limited

Appointed Technical Director of Hydrogen Horizons Limited formed to commercialise the Hydra-Pak technology. In 2016 work commenced on the thermal cooling project with Iceland Foods Ltd and the University of Huddersfield, UK. Due to complete late 2018.
